Are You A Virtuous Woman?

                                               Proverbs 31:10

Who can find a Virtuous Woman?  For her price is far above rubies.

Basically the question is, where are all the good women at?  The virtuous woman is a description of what wives and potential wives should be, and the type of woman a man should choose to marry.  So what is a virtuous woman?  The word virtuous means “strength”.  It refers to a women’s strength of character which means she fears God, she’s trustworthy, and she lives a moral life.  These are characteristics we all should strive for.  No one is perfect, each of us will fail in these areas, but God looks at the heart and how sincere you are in “trying” to live virtuously.  When we demonstrate a lifestyle of good character, people take note.  It makes us attractive and sets us apart from those who choose not to live virtuously.

From what I understand, in this verse the word rubies actually means pink pearls or red coral (a precious stone).  Each of these was considered valuable, precious and very rare in the bible days.  If our worth as virtuous women is far above something valuable, precious, and rare, that makes us extremely hard to find. Women that curse like sailors, live promiscuously and have no boundaries come a dime a dozen in the world we live in today.  We have to be different.  A virtuous man will search and seek after a virtuous woman and God will give him favor in finding her.  If a good man finds something precious and rare, he will care for it, appreciate it, and never let it go.

If you’re single, don’t worry about never finding love.  Love will find you.  Reverence God, live right and make wise choices.  Know your worth and don’t settle!  You are a rare gem and God wants the best for you.  Psalm 84:11, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly”.  Believe in His word, Virtuous Woman!

Married ladies, we will chat soon!

Blessings,

  1. I really loved the artilce. I know how G-d uses all of his creators to get his message across!! And how all of the forces can distract us from doing or really hearing G-d will.I really like the message of the sermon do. If you know your truth and your aliened with g-d you should ask G-d to give you the strength to move forward in faith despite the fears. Thanks for the positive encouragement for us single ladies. I believe if I continue to get close to G-d the right righteous man will know what a true gem all his holy daughters are. Blessings Ty great job.

    1. Hi Hadassah, thank you for sharing your thoughts on both posts. Pressing through our emotions is really hard sometimes. I agree that having faith in God and a made up mind helps fight through the emotions. And yes! We're all Gods precious gems.

      Blessings!
